We've Got Ears, Let's Say Cheers!

Maddie's "Aunt" Lindzey went on a family trip to Disney last week. She brought back Maddie her very own monogrammed mouse ears. Maddie loves them! Thank you Aunt Lindzey! (Note: Maddie has a cold and you can really tell in her poor little eyes. She is being a trooper though! )

Happy Birthday Uncle Bo!

We celebrated Jason's 1st anniversary of his 30th b-day (Ha, ha!) last night. Terry and Darlene cooked a delicious meal and Summer had Melanie make a YUMMY red velvet cake with chocolate covered strawberries. Jason fed Maddie for me while we were there. Maddie loves her Uncle Bo! Also, if you want to see pictures of the gorgeous dress up room my MIL made for the girls, go to Jason and Summer's blog. It turned out soooo beautiful and Summer took some cute pictures of the girls sitting in their chairs. :)

5 Months!

Maddie was 5 months on Tues., June 23rd. We cannot believe that it has already been 5 whole months!! She is really changing everyday, and I know that she is getting to the point where she will be learning something new everyday! We didn't have a 5 month well visit, so I am not positive on her stats, but I did weigh her at home and she was a whopping 16lbs. 8oz. She is really filling out and I LOVE it! She is rolling over constantly in both directions now. Some days she is trying to sit up, but she definitely has not mastered that one yet. She is our little happy baby. She is constantly giggling or grunting. I love to listen to her on the monitor in the morning b/c she will "talk" and laugh until I go up there and get her. It is so cute! She is starting to reach for people to hold her now, too. She doesn't put her arms out exactly for them to grab under, but she reaches for their hands. I love that she is doing that now! She is still a good sleeper. She will go to bed between 7:30 and 8 and then get up around 7. (Yay for Mommy and Daddy!) She takes 3-one hour naps during the day, too. She is such a true joy in our lives. I cannot even imagine what life was like without her. She fills our days with so much excitement and happiness. We love her soooo much!

Maddie loves Sammy

Maddie loves watching Sammy run around and play. She giggles constantly at him. I'm not sure the feeling is mutual yet for Sammy, but I think he is starting to enjoy her company. :)

Chad's 1st Father's Day

Today we celebrated Chad's 1st Father's Day. Unfortuantely, he was sick. He woke up in the middle of the night with a bad sore throat and congestion. :( Maddie and I made him breakfast in bed, then he went back to sleep for a little while longer. Then, we went over to Terry and Darlene's for hot dogs and hamburgers. Maddie had a wonderful time visiting with everyone, but we knew Chad wasn't feeling well, so we cut our visit short and came back home. It stinks that Chad is sick on his 1st Father's day, but it doesn't mean that we can't still celebrate how wonderful of a daddy he really is. When Chad comes in the room Maddie's face lights up. She loves her daddy soooo much and I cannot wait to see their bond deepen. I always knew Chad was going to be an amazing dad, but he has really blown me away with just how wonderful he is. We are both so unbelievably lucky to have him in our lives. Thank you Lord for such an loving husband and incredible daddy to our sweet Maddie.

Lately

I am really enjoying my summer with Maddie Girl. She really does something new everyday and I am so happy I get to experience it with her. She is rolling over like a mad woman now! She still gets stuck sometimes going from her back to her belly, but she is always going from her belly to her back. When she is on her belly she kicks her legs and sticks her booty up in the air. I think that if her little arms would let her she would try to crawl...Mommy is definitely not ready for this yet! Maddie is enjoying baby food now and makes a sound that sounds like "Yum" after every bite. She loves pears, bananas, applesauce, squash, sweet potatoes, and carrots (if I mix a little applesauce in with it ;) ) She despises peaches and peas. Ha, ha! She has really been chewing a lot lately and I think she is in the process of trying to cut a tooth. I've heard it can take months for the tooth to actually come in though. It has affected her sleep a little, too. She has been waking up around 5 just talking and laughing, but then usually gets fussy around 6. She used to sleep till after 7. I hope that this goes back to normal soon, but maybe she is just a morning person! :) She is really starting to "talk" a lot. When we go to stores especially she gets so loud just babbling away. I think it is really cute! I cannot believe she will be 5 months is less than a week! Before I know it, I will be planning her first birthday. Wow!

4 Month Check Up

Hanging out after yucky shots!
Getting ready to eat!

This squash might be ok.

Maybe not!

What a cutie!

Maddie had her 4 month check up yesterday. Dr. Colon said she looked great! She is still 75% in everything. She is 24 1/2 in. long and weighs 14lbs.13ozs. She is getting so big!! I cannot believe how fast time is flying. I think I say that every month, but it is soooo true! Maddie had to get 4 more shots, and she was such a trooper. She only screamed for less than a minute, but of course it felt like eternity to mommy and daddy. Once I picked her up she was better. Dr. Colon gave us the go ahead to introduce a fruit and veggie for lunch and dinner. We tried squash and pears first, and they were a "No-Go!" I tried it again for dinner and she ate the squash, but absolutely despised the pears. I was very surprised b/c the pears taste pretty good. Ha! I might try sweet potatoes and bananas next. We will see how that goes. There is not too much of a variety on the stage 1 foods! I am really enjoying being a SSAHM (Summer Stay At Home Mom :) ) I love spending my time with little Maddie and watching her grow and change everyday. She is "talking" more and more everyday and has started to do this really sweet babble when she is sleepy and trying to fall asleep. It is so precious. She is rolling over from her belly to her back, but is still working on rolling from her back to her belly. She gets everything over except for her shoulders, so I have to give her a little boost. I cannot wait to see the new things she will learn in the next couple months. We are sooo blessed!

Prayer Request

I just finished looking at my friend, Joanna's blog. She had her gorgeous baby boy, Jet, on Tues., May 26th. He is at Scottish Rite right now and Joanna was finally reunited with her precious one on Friday. Seeing her pictures with him are breathtaking! Jet had surgery to close the opening in his spine. He is doing so amazingly well right now and I know it is b/c he has so many people praying diligently for him. I thought that maybe by mentioning it on here, that maybe a few more people would add Jet to their prayer list. Please pray that he will continue to heal from his surgery and that the fluid on his brain does not increase. So far, he is showing everybody just how tough and special he is. Here is a link to her blog so you can see for yourself just how beautiful he is: http://babyboypenny.blogspot.com/
