Maddie's 1st Words

Happy 27th Birthday Chad!

We celebrated Chad's b-day on Thursday. All of the family go together and Terry and Darlene cooked chicken (Chad's request). It was delicious! Chad wanted a Kroger cake this year and I got one made with a deer on it. (Can we say Red-Neck!) I gave Chad a gift everyday leading up to his b-day. He loved waking up to see what he got each day. I think the best gift he got was that Maddie started saying "Dada" ON his b-day. How awesome is that?! We had such a fun night on Thursday. Maddie was in rare form and was cracking us up! She is so funny. She changes so much everyday. I look forward to seeing what new things she will do every day.

Random Cuteness

7 Months

Wow! Little Maddie is 7 months today. She is now officially closer to one than, zero. I have to admit it kind of makes me sad. Although I LOVE watching her grow and learn everyday, I think about her getting bigger and more independant and I get scared she won't need me anymore. (I know, I'm crazy!) I guess I will be that crazy overbearing mom after all! Ha! Anyways, I am back to work and I miss her terribly while I am gone. But, I do love my job and I know she is in great hands. Plus, she loves her sitter. I absolutely love picking her in the afternoons b/c when she sees me she goes bananas! I just love her to pieces. Maddie is such a happy baby. She is doing better in the evenings if we are out past her bedtime, so that makes those activities easier...although I usually like to stick to her routine. Since she is sitting up so well now she can sit in shopping carts and high chairs at restaurants, and that makes her A LOT happier than being in that stuffy car seat! She loves to shop and run errands with me. She is very curious right now and reaches for anything and everything in sight. We have to be careful what we put near her b/c it will be in her hands and mouth in an instant. When I'm feeding her I have to clear everything off the counter b/c she gets so distracted trying to pick up everything. She is still a great eater. She is able to have more of a variety of foods with the stage 2 baby foods and she loves it! She says "Yum" after every bite. She is hilarious. Maddie is now taking a bath in her bathtub, but we still put her in her smaller tub. I am afraid she will slip, so until I remember to get one of those sponge seat things that's where she will stay. I actually need to get her a high chair, too, b/c I have just been using her Bumbo. I don't want a big high chair, just one that straps on to one of our chairs. I guess I need to make a trip out to Babies-R-Us. Maddie is still babbling like crazy. I am working on Ma-ma and Da-da! I guess she is going to be a talker like her Mommy. :) She LOVES Tigger and Pooh. When the theme song comes on she starts giggling and smiling. She still is a great sleeper. She is in bed by 8 and wakes up between 6:45 and 7:15. We still don't have any teeth, but Chad and I were both late bloomers with those, so she probably will be, too. Maddie is scooting a little on her belly. I really don't see her crawling though b/c she hates being on her belly. I guess we will see! Well, I guess that is all for now...I know I am probably forgetting so many things. Happy 7 month b-day Maddie Baby!

6 Month Well Visit

Just a quick post of Maddie's stats from her 6 month well visit. She weighs 18.2 lbs. (80%)and is 27 in. long (90%). She grew almost 3 inches since June! Dr. Colon said she looked great! Maddie was showing her all of her new tricks and Dr. Colon was calling the nurses in to check them out b/c she thought she was so funny! She is now on stage 2 foods and we have stopped the Zantac. She still has a little reflux, but it is not bothering her anymore like it used to. Hopefully it goes away completely soon! We go back in November for her next check up. We are getting closer and closer to that 1st b-day. Wow!!

Our Week With The Arritt's

Our good friends, Jonathan and Mandy, and their adorable little boy, Landon, came to visit us this week. We had great week, but boy are we tired! We went to the outlet mall to shop, Mandy and I got a pedicure, went to the zoo, met the Jordan's for a playdate at JumpIts, and shopped some more. Not to mention I ate way too much and enjoyed taking Mandy to Maggie Moo's and DQ. (Good exuse, huh?!) The boys got to play a couple games of golf, too. It was so nice visiting with them, especially since this was their first time meeting Maddie Girl. Landon and Maddie may get married one day, although he was quite the "player" with all the other little girls around. :) It was so funny to see our kids interact with each other. I can't wait till Maddie can keep up with Landon. While they were here Maddie started sitting up. She is doing such a great job. Today, she sat up and helped me fold laundry. I think she likes being able to see the world from this new view. She is also blowing raspberries all the time and it cracks us up! We go to the Dr. on Friday for her 6 month visit. I will keep you posted on her stats. I start back to work on Monday and I am not ready to leave my sweet girl. She is changing so much everyday I can't imagine not being with her all day. I look forward to meeting my new students and starting a new year, but I will be missing my little sweetness a whole bunch. Here are some pics from our week!
