We are incredibly blessed!! We have a healthy, beautiful baby girl that lights up our life, amazing families that give us constant support, and wonderful friends. On top of that we were spoiled rotten this year for Christmas. We got lots of things we needed and even more things we wanted. ;) Maddie must of been a good girl this year. We have so many toys for this little girl that I think we need a new house just to put all of her toys in! They definitely don't fit in her playroom. We are so grateful for all the presents that we got this year and especially for everything Maddie got...I'm speechless. (And we all know that doesn't happen often ;) )

10 Beautiful Months
Maddie is 10 months old! She started off her tenth month with her first "real" fever. When she woke up from her nap she was burning up and I took her temp and she had a fever of 101.5. After a bath it spiked to 102.4! She was so pitiful, but had no other symptoms other than the fever. The next few days were stressful. She was very clingy (which was fine), but she was not her usual happy self. She was very irritable. We think she is cutting her first tooth, but have yet to see anything. She is finally back to her normal self today and I am praying this tooth comes in! I feel like I just updated the fun facts about Maddie, but here are a few more:
~She waves hi every time she sees you...even if it has just been a minute.
~She will pick up her "phone" and say hi when I answer my phone.
~She says "gee" for doggy (Sammy).
~She can throw some temper tantrums if you take something away from her!
Maddie enjoyed her first Thanksgiving. She didn't get to enjoy as much of the good food b/c her appetite was not very big when she was sick, but she enjoyed all the attention and company. Jason took some cute family photos, but I'm not posting them b/c you will see it on our Christmas card. ;) I am starting to plan the big 1st birthday party. It is so bittersweet. I know the next 2 months will fly with Christmas and New Years.

My BFF is ENGAGED!

My best friend, Afton, got engaged yesterday. She has been waiting a long time for this and I could not of hand picked a better guy for her. I am so excited to help her during this special time. She has always been the first one to plan wedding showers, then baby showers for me and now it MY turn to do it for her!! Congratulations Afton and Copeland!

9 Month Check-Up
Maddie went for her 9 month well visit yesterday. Dr. Colon says she looks perfect! (I knew that already :) ) Here stats are: 20lbs 12ozs. (75%)
28 in. long (90%)
A few fun facts about Maddie:
~She is waving.
~She loves to clap.
~She scoots on her butt EVERYWHERE (and quick, too!)
~She strongly dislikes being on her belly still :)
~She loves banana puffs and cheese puff sticks and pretty much anything else you out in front of her...except for the meat baby food, but I can't blame her!
~She says mama, dada, and hi
~She loves to play peek-a-boo
~She loves when I sing "Mr. Sun"
~She LOVES Sammy, our dog. ( Can't say the feeling is mutual though)
~Last but not least, she is so confused from this time change! She goes to bed at 7 and gets up at 6 or 6:30...I know I shouldn't be complaining b/c some babies are not sleeping thru the night at her age, but boy do I miss those 7:30 or later Sat. mornings! Maybe she will get used to it by the next time change!

Maddie's Baptism

We had the honor of having Maddie baptised on Sunday, November 8th. It was such a special day for us knowing that this is Maddie's first step in accepting God in her life and how important it is for us to help her build this foundation. She was incredible during the whole service. She really loved listening to the music and was "dancing" a little bit during the service. We are so blessed to be her parents. I find myself wondering how I got so lucky to be, not only a mommy, but a mommy to the most amazing little girl. I will never be able to thank Him enough!
Here are a few pictures Afton took at Maddie's party afterwards. I am hoping to post the video of her baptism soon. :)

Maddie's Mode of Transportation
Maddie has never liked being on her belly. I wondered if this would affect her crawling b/c whenever she would have tummy time she would get so mad. Well, Maddie proved to us that she doesn't need to crawl to get around. She is "butt scooting" everywhere now. If we turn our backs for a minute she is into something she is not supposed to be in. I can tell it is only the beginning and as funny as it is I realize it is time to do some major baby proofing. Here are a few pics to show her getting around. :)

Maddie's 1st Visit to a Pumpkin Patch
We took Maddie to the pumpkin patch at Due West Methodist Church. Maddie loved looking at all of the pumpkins, but was NOT a fan of the grass. It was her first time sitting in the grass without a blanket or pants and she did not want any part of it! She would look at her pumpkin and get excited, but then she would touch the grass and say "Ugh." It was so funny. She was much happier in her Daddy's arms. We got 2 pumpkins for her and we are excited to carve them a little closer to Halloween. I finally got Maddie's costume and I can't wait for her to wear it. I hope it is chilly that night b/c it is very snuggly. I am sooo excited for the holiday season especially b/c we have Maddie to share it with this year. Oh, and by the way, Maddie has started saying "mama." I was over the moon when she said it the first time. It is the sweetest sound! I can't believe she will be 9 months in one week!

Our Sweetness is 8 Months Old!
Maddie turned 8 months today. I can't get over how fast her first year is flying by...and I hear it speeds up even more after the first year. Maddie is the light of our lives. We are so unbelievably blessed to be her mommy and daddy. Maddie is really developing a little personality. She is so funny! She will let out these loud shrieks when she sees Sammy or gets excited. It cracks us up! She is ticklish everywhere. She has started dancing now anytime her music comes on. She waves her arms up and down and rocks back and forth. She is playing peek-a-boo and loves to look at herself in the mirror still, ha ha! She is wanting to stand all the time and is starting to try to pull up. She is "crawling" backwards, but has not mastered going forwards. I still think she will walk before she crawls. She has started eating Puffs for a snack and she loves them. She is practicing getting them in her fingertips so they actually get in her mouth instead of smushed in her fist. It is really funny to watch. We don't go to the Dr. for her check up until next month, but I weighed her last week and she was a little over 20lbs! She is still a great eater...as you can see! She is also a little babbler. She is always "talking", and of course I love that! I guess she gets that from me, considering I never stop talking. :)I am looking forward to another exciting month of new discoveries.
We survived the Flood of 2009. Please pray for all the families who lost loved ones and their homes. It took me over 2 and 1/2 hours to pick up Maddie on Monday b/c of road closures. I thought I was about to have my first panic attack. I finally made it to her and did not let go of her till it was time for her to go to bed. I feel very fortunate that we have not been directly affected by this, but others were not so lucky. I pray they find the peace and help during this difficult time.
