Our Gingerbread House

Chad and I started the tradition of making a gingerbread house during the Christmas season when I was pregnant with Maddie. Last year she just watched and hung out while we decorated the house, but this year was a whole different story! She was in on all the action and had to taste each piece before it went on and sometimes after it was on. :) Her love of sweets definitely comes from me. Here is Maddie decorating HER gingerbread house.

A Very Merry Christmas

Our family had the most wonderful Christmas with our families. It is so much fun to see Christmas through Maddie's eyes and watching her open her presents. She really got into opening presents this year. We would have her take presents to our family members and she would have it halfway open before they got it! It seems like Christmas just flew by, but we enjoyed every moment of it. We celebrated 4 different times. Once on Christmas Eve with Chad's whole family, Christmas morning with the Pendley's, Lunch with my mom, and desserts with my dad. We even snuck in our own Christmas with just the 3 of us. Maddie was so excited to spend time with everyone and loved showing off her toys. Our families always go over and beyond on Christmas. We have Maddie's toys spread out on all 3 levels of our house. She is a very lucky girl! :) I'm so grateful that we were able to spend time with both of our families during this special holiday.

And I promise to be a better blogger after this week when I am enjoying my 16 days off! Wahoo! I will leave you with a few pics of the cutest (and usually ) the sweetest little girl I know!

Georgia Aquarium

We took Maddie to the GA Aquarium for the first time. She's been to the aquarium in Myrtle Beach, but the Ga Aquarium is the biggest aquarium in the world. Good thing, too, b/c it was PACKED! We didn't bring her stroller b/c we wanted her to be able to walk around and I'm glad we didn't b/c I don't think I would of been able to manuever it! Anywho, she had a blast!! She loves "ishies" and said it about a thousand times! It was so cute! We would walk into a new exhibit and she would yell "Whoa!" She cracks us up! It was such a fun trip! After the aquarium we went to Johnny Rockets for lunch b/c anyone that knows Maddie knows she LOVES hot dogs! She liked dancing to the 50's music that was playing, too. :) We are planning a trip to Chattanooga to visit that aquarium, too, b/c it is mine and Chad's favorite!

Halloween 2010

We had so much fun getting ready for Halloween this year! Maddie was really into her pumpkin and had to hug it every day. She LOVED trick or treating and hooted and hollered the whole time! I enjoy holidays so much more having a little one to share it with. She is getting so big and is talking up a storm. She repeats most things we say (so we have to be careful!) and is also putting some sentences together. She is shy at first, but once she warms up she is a chatterbox! We are looking forward to the holiday season!

Starting Fall Off Right!

We took Maddie to a co-worker's of Chad's house for his annual bonfire, hayride, and pumpkin pickin'. :)She had a blast! She ate a hot dog, rode on the tractor for a hayride (although Maddie kept calling it a "choo-choo"), and got to pick out her own pumpkin. She took her time touching all the pumpkins and trying to pick all of them up. She finally found the most perfect one and we took it with us. She loves it! It was a lot of fun and the most perfect way to kick off Fall! This is my most favorite time of the year and having our little family makes it even better! I'm looking forward to many more memories like this one.

Lura and Pablo's Wedding

Lura and Pablo's wedding was absolutely perfect! From the weather to the decor, it just fit them to a tee! I wish I got better pictures of the beautiful bride. Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Sierra!

Chad's 28th Birthday

We celebrated Chad's birthday at Texas Roadhouse with the family. We had a delicious meal and then went back to Terry and Darlene's for a cake. It's kind of a tradition now for me to get a "redneck cake" for Chad. It turned out cute and it was de-lish! Happy birthday to my favorite 28 year old!

Maddie is 18 Months!

I cannot believe my sweet "baby" is a year and half! Where does the time go?? She truly lights up our lives and makes us laugh daily. She is such a sweet, funny, and sometimes sneaky little girl. We love her so much! We have Maddie's well check on Wed., so I'll post stats then, but I haven't updated what Maddie is "doing" in a LONG time...I'm sure I'll forget a lot of things, but here we go:

~Sleeps from 7:30 or 8- 7:30 or 8.
~Takes one 2-2 1/2 nap
~Loves milk and juice
~Really is not a picky eater...she loves it all
~She went from walking to running everywhere really fast, and she has a cute little run where she puts her hands out a little and shakes her booty. :)
~Loves to help mommy put clothes in the dryer, throw away anything and everything, and put her shoes on.
~Likes to have her toenails painted, but not cut. After I paint her nails she will help me blow on them and say "Ooh wee"
~LOVES being outside
~Pats her tummy when she wants to get in the pool and splish splash
~She is starting to climb on everything and this gives mommy a heart attack...apparently daddy was a climber. :)
~She's a little chatterbox...I wonder who she gets that from ;) She will say: gee (doggy), hi, bye, mommy, daddy, up, shoes, juice (this is for milk, too), eat, yummy, mimi (Minnie Mouse), night, night, nose, bee, cookie, apple, ball, car keys, out (for outside), vroom-vroom, house, bath, book, shewee (when I change stinky diapers I say this and she does, too LOL), oh wee, no, nose, banana, backpack (Thanks Dora), blue, teeth, boon (balloon), tv, shimsuit (swimsuit :) ), where it go, there it is...that's all I can think of at the moment. :)
~Animals sounds: woof-woof, meow, quack-quack, moo, tweet-tweet, neigh, cocka doo (for a rooster), roar, baa
~Can point to her head, ear, eyes, nose, mouth(and tongue), hands, toes, belly.
~Loves to give kisses and hig fives.

She is definitely full of personality. We love watching her grow and learn daily. Maddie is definitely the apple of our eyes!

Myrtle Beach 2010

We just got back from a wonderful trip to Myrtle Beach with our good friends, The Arritt's. The beach was beautiful and it was fun having another little friend fo Maddie to play with. Maddie is still not a fan of the sand, but we were able to spend some time on the beach and most of our time at the pool. Mandy and I even got to have a shopping trip without the kiddos! Chad and Jonathan played a round of golf, so don't feel too bad for the boys! It was a great vacation. I am already looking forward to next year!
